You are the best way to learn.
Build your academic strengths, boost confidence, and develop the independence to face any challenge.
The Mindful Approach is about cultivating intellective capacity.
I strive to build a learning partnership between myself and the student that is based on trust, validation and self reflection.
I approach each scholar with the mindset that I have as much to learn from the student as the student has to learn from my content.
My goal is to provide each learner with a greater sense of agency and confidence in their own ability, to develop powerful self-advocacy skills so they can effectively engage with classroom material with reduced levels of support over time.
Every scholar is a learning opportunity. I will hear their challenges, plan around their aptitudes, and guide them towards academic and vocational independence.
What parents and students think
Special needs, unique teaching.
My job is to create learning plans that include formal milestones for measuring progress.
When instructors do not take their pupils’ interests and abilities into account, they are effectively teaching disabled.
I identify specific learning styles using official IEP documentation, assessments like the WIAT III, Woodcock Johnson IV, QRI Reading Assessment, as well as student work samples and teacher records.
I do my best work with students before classwork becomes a burden, training students in organizational strategies and assistive learning tools before classwork kicks into high gear. I can also step in and tend to urgent needs as they happen, getting students back in good academic standing.
